Iran: Lead us not into hair salons but deliver us from evil

In the long list of forbidden lifestyle choices in Iran we can now add certain "inappropriate" hairstyles. As the head of Iran's Barbers Union, Mostafa Govahi, poignantly said, "devil-worshipping hairstyles are now forbidden" and "any shop that cuts hair in those styles "will be harshly dealt with and their license revoked".

Evilest of all that devil-worshipping, the spiky haircut which is also allegedly quite "homosexual" which can be filed under the broad term of "western decadence", a staple meme of Iran's morality police. One can assume (and hope) that the list of depraved coiffures also includes mullets, braids, ringlets, the Bieber, the Trump and most definitely anything associated with Boris Johnson

Hair styling is not the only restriction Iranian men face in their country, they are also banned from tattoos, eyebrow plucking, jewelry, and tanning salons; so basically from looking like Italian men.
